Falling in Love
There is an exquisite edge
to wanting someone so much
A hunger that rocks through body and soul
Piercing, delicious, yearning
Brings me to my knees.
No choosing.
With you it’s balanced in embracing gratitude
Because whilst I could never presume to have you
Or that you are mine
I feel you so
Like warm hands cupped around
the essence of my life
Both wrapping me and in my skin
Both sovereign to yourself and still connected.
I am in service to you, with you
to the me that shines within this chamber
It’s the stripped back hope I needed in these days of change
A rope to hold and cherish
a breaking down and grieving,
such being born.
